Sacraments

Baptisms:  Parents must be registered parishioners.  Baptisms are scheduled on every Sunday at 1:30 PM and at one of the weekend masses on the fourth weekend of the month. Baptism preparation class is necessary. Baptism preparation classes are held on the first Wednesday and second Sunday of the month. Call the parish office to register for class and baptism.

Reconciliation
Saturday: 11 AM-12 NOON
Also by appointment in the rectory

Weddings: Arrange with a pastoral staff member at least four months in advance. Participation in marriage preparation is essential.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA): For unbaptized persons or baptized persons interested in learning more about the Catholic faith and the process of becoming a Catholic. Call the parish office.

Religious Education: Arrangements should be made for the religious education of children attending public schools. Call the director of catechesis at (773) 588-6484.

Homebound: Call parish office to arrange communion in home for those unable to attend mass or to request visit by parish nurse.

Spiritual Life Commission

The Spiritual Life Commission focuses on the spiritual formation of the entire parish. The spiritual life committee communicates and coordinates the work of the liturgy committee, young adult spiritual outreach, the parish mission, scripture study, and communal and individual retreats. These efforts enhance the spiritual lives of every segment of the parish, from students in our schools to senior citizens, fostering both individual and communal growth.   • Art and Environment - prepare and decorate the church for liturgical seasons
  • Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) - adults pursue deeper relationship in Christ
  • Eucharistic Minister - assist priest with distribution of communion during liturgies
  • Family Mass – plan liturgy and minister at monthly family mass
  • Holy Thursday Seder and Pot Luck -
  • Lector - read scripture at liturgies
  • Liturgical Dance - choreograph and perform dance at liturgies
  • Liturgical Script Writers – write prayers of the faithful
  • Liturgy Committee -oversee all sacramental and liturgical celebrations
  • Parish Mission - organize presenters/communication for Parish Mission
  • PreCana – prepare couples for upcoming marriage
  • Sacristan - set up and clean up altar for liturgies
  • Server - assist priest during liturgies
  • 6:30 Mass Group - plan liturgy and minister at 6:30 Sunday mass
  • Theology on Tap - coordinate lecture/discussion series for young adults
  • Usher - greet and assist congregation at liturgies
  • Wedding Coordinators – assist in wedding rehearsals and weddings

Music:

  • Parish Choir - sing at 10 AM Sunday mass
  • Cantor - lead congregation in song at liturgies; musical background helpful; training provided
  • Festival Orchestra -plays at special festival masses incl. Christmas and Easter
  • Resurrection Choir - sing at funeral
  • Soloists and Small Ensembles - sing or play an instrument to enhance select liturgies
  • 12:00 Choir Group - sing at 12 Noon Sunday mass
